Activities / Symposium: Connecting the Dots
Alert: non-members are more than welcome to sign-up and come listen, but won't get any lunch.
Every year we invite four speakers from around the world to take us through their work. Two physicists and two mathematicians. They will show us some of their work, in English, with regard to the theme "Connecting the Dots". We invite all bachelor, master and PhD students to come and listen to the next speakers:
- Jan Ambjørn: Defining quantum gravity by connecting the dots
- Lydia Brenner: Interpreting big data to find a new particle: a journey to the discovery of the Higgs boson
- Sam Mattheus: Using randomness and algebra to create chaotic graphs
- Eleni Agathoclecous: Number Theory - Cryptography - Quantum Computing
The event is from 12:30 untill 18:00. At the beginning you get a free lunch and afterwards there is a borrel. Here you can also talk to the speakers to get to know them. A valuable chance to network and to learn about current developments in mathematics and physics. Who knows, maybe you can do such interesting research in the future. In short: don't miss it!
PS: If you're planning on coming, please sign up, then we can make an appropriate amount of lunch :)
