The Give - what you'll need to bring

In (pen)ultimate year of a quantitative field of study (e.g. Mathematics, Physics Econometrics or Financial Engineering)
Superior analytical skills
Experience in a programming language is an advantage (e.g. Python, Matlab, R)
Interest in financial markets is a must, no prior knowledge or experience is required
Available for at least 12 weeks.

Graduate Trader

YOUR ROLE AS A GRADUATE TRADER
As a graduate trader you will;

Develop, maintain, and improve trading models, algorithms, and systems
Trade a range of financial instruments (in a highly automated way)
Manage the execution and risk of complex trading portfolios
Research new market opportunities
Collaborate cross-functionally with our developers and engineers to understand and improve technical infrastructure.

What your traineeship is all about?

 A global training program lasting seven weeks that prepares you for the job by enhancing your knowledge about trading, trading technology and algorithms.
A truly global initiative where you will be trained by a group of seasoned traders and engineers, and will go through the program together with peers from all the other IMC offices.
An introduction to IMC and its people. In parallel to focusing on the content of the job you will also travel to two IMC offices, and become acquainted with the company by attending guest lectures, social events etc.
After the global training program, your training continues in your own office for another two months, after which you will be well prepared to hit the trading desk.
At the trading desk you will be assigned a mentor who will help you get up to speed and set you up for success.

Academic background in a quantitative field of study (e.g. Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or Econometrics)
Superior analytical and mathematical skills
Experience in Python is a strong advantage
Interest in financial markets is a must, no prior knowledge or experience is required

IMC trades a wide range of financial instruments, in different ways. Therefore we look for different types of traders: from the quantitative ones that enjoy the mathematical side of trading, to the more operationally focused that enjoy the game of interacting with brokers over the phone. Based on your background and strengths during the traineeship, you are allocated to a desk and role. Do you have more of finance background or a PhD? For both we offer possibilities so don’t hesitate to apply!

Research Analyst

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A RESEARCH ANALYST:

Perform fundamental analysis of equities to forecast dividend stream for a portfolio of stocks;
Monitor stock market newswires for updates regarding the amount or timing of company distributions;
Maintain a database of events and pricing;
Monitor news to define scenarios and assess the impact of upcoming events on dividend estimates;
Build relationship with external stakeholders such as investor relations, exchange and index providers;
Evaluate impact of special situations on pricing;
Collaborate with traders on investment ideas

YOUR PROFILE:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Econometrics, Financial Engineering or related fields of studies;
A maximum of 3 years of experience in financial markets, with a preference of basic knowledge of finance and experience using Bloomberg/Reuters;
Strong written, analytical, and financial research skills;
Demonstrable interest in, and some knowledge of, single stock and macroeconomic environment;
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast paced, dynamic environment;
Options knowledge including understanding of the Greeks is a plus;
Ability to work successfully in a fast-moving and competitive environment;
Experience with programming in Python is a plus;
Desire to work in a team environment is a must
