Crewing for and free attendance of Conference of the Condensed Matter Division

In the period of September 4-9 2016, Groningen will host the 26th Conference of the Condensed Matter Division of the European Physical Society at the Martini Plaza Conference Centre. The programme is very exciting and features many top scientists from all over the world, among which the Nobel Prize winner Shuji Nakamura (see

About 700 physicists from all over the world will attend this conference. If you are willing to carry around a microphone during the question sessions after each presentation or take care of the projection system during the sessions, you are very welcome to participate in the conference as part of the "CMD26 crew", i.e. at no charge.

Please kindly send an e-mail to Petra Rudolf through if you want to take advantage of this offer and specify which session(s) you would like to attend, in the format "day, timeslot".

For example: I would like to attend on Sun 4/9 13:45-14:45h Opening Plenary and Complex Oxide Interfaces 14:55-15:55h, 16:25 -17:55h.

You can sign up for as many sessions as you want, coffee & tea breaks and lunch will also be offered to you.

If you need an accommodation because you would like to stay several days and you prefer to be hosted by fellow students in Groningen instead of going to the Youth hostel or to the Budget hotel Martini, please also indicate that in your reply and we shall try to organize a couch surfing opportunity for you.
