Do you know what are you going to do after you have finished your master’s degree? You have probably heard this question several times over the last year. You might have answered: “I’m going to do a PhD.” But do you know what it is really like to devote your life to science? What will your days look like? Will you be working on your own or in a group? And on what subject? What will happen when you get stuck on something and it looks like there is no solution? Are there any arrangements you can make now to prepare yourself? And what will the university expect from you?
To create order from chaos, we have organized a meeting for all master students of the FNWI with a panel of PhD-students working in various scientific areas. You will have the opportunity to ask them all the questions that might arise when deciding to start a PhD. Also Jan de Boer, director of the Graduate School of Science, will provide you with information from the university’s point of view, and tell you something about what could be expected from you being a PhD-student at the UvA.
The meeting will be held at Thursday the 28th of February, from 19:00 to 21:00 at Science Park C0.110.
We are looking forward to seeing you there! Don’t hesitate to express your doubts and uncertainties, use this evening to your advantage!
